Ertl really has gone in a positive direction making quite a number of one-off cars out of some of their more popular molds. These types of models really add some diversity and depth-of-interest to our collections. This one got the full treatment. I was lucky enough to find a copy with nice stripes and the wheel emblems. The underhood details were pretty much already done by Ertl, but a little color here and there helped perk it up a bit.
You may notice that the hood does not have a chrome strip along the back edge, this detail is correct. When the BM fiberglass hood was added on the 1:1's, it did not include this chrome strip. While this correctly details the model like the 1:1 it looks a little unfinished but I'm always interested in accuracy. Red and black cars always look good when chromed and this is no exception.
