1970 Nova SS396, Orange w/vinyl roof (Ertl)

One of the first cars I owned was a 1972 Nova. It was orange with a black vinyl roof so you can guess why I was itching to do this modification to this model. The Nova body shape just seems to really work well with a vinyl roof. Not all body styles can pull it off as well for some reason. This model got the full blown paint detailing and of course the vinyl roof. This Nova got the full chrome treatment on the drip rails and door window frames mostly because when vinyl roofs were ordered on these cars this typically included these chrome accents.

Being one of Ertl's best efforts, this one really looks outstanding when detailed. For the same money spent (basice RE Ertl Nova + detailing costs) it really gives they GMP Nova a run and the Ertl ends up with openning doors and a (in my opinion) more accurate body shape.
