1957 Chevrolet Cameo Carrier, Omaha Orange (Ertl)

This one has received a number of subtle details but the results were pretty good. I started out to do one for someone else and decided to do my own copy as well.

Ertl does the trim on the older vehicles so well I couldn't find much to chrome so I chromed the bed strips. I think it really adds some character to the bed. I also painted the foot pedals in the interior.

One small detail Ertl missed was making the bowtie emblem on the sides blue. This was a pretty easy detail to add and perks up the sides of the truck.

The engines in these trucks are pretty darn basic and don't have a lot of visual detail I did paint the battery caps, radiator cap, voltage regulator, distributor, coil, water inlet, hose clamps, exhaust manifolds, transmission, exhaust pipe, starter, fuel pump and oil filter. I wish I could match the paint and paint the inner fenders. They should be body color. At least Ertl painted the firewall.

Down under I added detail to the suspension, driveshaft and exhaust. You can also see some of the engine details. I wish I knew what the underbody should look like so I could detail it better. I think it should all be body color but I just don't know for sure. Either way the added detail adds to the visual pizzaz of the undercarriage.
