I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is one of Ertl's best efforts. Since the top is molded plastic and separate from the diecast body, I really wonder why we haven't seen a convertible out of this mold. Anyway, it is one of the cleanest molds around and the body shape has really been captured well. As you can tell, it takes well to detailing.

From any angle, it's a looker. Getting the chrome just right around that recessed rear window is a real hassle but worth the effort.

Lots of little details add up. The underside of the hood, master cylinder, radiator support, hood latch, battery, washer bottle lid and hose clamps all got a little attention.

There really wasn't much to do here. I detailed the shifter knob and boot. One thing I did notice, all Ertl 67 Chevelles have the steering wheel on upside down! The wheel can only go on one way in relation to the steering shaft so there is no easy way to fix it.

I still can't figure out why the steering link is diecast instead of plastic. It doesn't really matter but it is one of the more real looking steering links on these models. The exhaust was painted but I added details to the gas tank, oil filter, starter, fuel pump, anti-sway bar, drive shaft, shocks and steering link.
