Another customer car getting the "works". This is a particularly nice mold. I did so many of these for customers I broke down and bought one for myself (I typically don't collect cars simply by color). It looks great with my red, blue and purple Chevelles.

I suppose Ertl will offer a convertible out of this mold at some point, I hope they also offer a non-vinyl hardtop too. A great looking 1:1 makes for a great looking 1:18 if done right and this one was. Ertl has trouble with black paint sometimes but this one looks nice.

Since this was an LE I didn't have much to do here but I did detail the master cylinder, water inlet, hose clamps, battery terminals and coil. Black GM cars are so easy to detail since the under hood sheet metal is already the right color.

Again, not much to do here but I found ways to improve on the standard issue. I added details to the steering wheel (blacked out slots in spokes) and finished off the paint on the console and dash where the black didn't go everywhere it should have. Ertl did a nice job here as well.

Lots of details here. The gas tank, shocks, oil filter, starter and anti-sway bar got paint. The steering link is cast in metal (???) so all I did was strip the black paint off and it looks great. Call it an anti-detailing method!

Enjoy Roland!
