This is a great model, strong molding, nice detail and an overall strong design. I can't believe this one sat in my display case this long before I got around to giving it some detailing.

This car has more chrome than may seem immediately apparent. The windshield, rear window, door top edges, drip rails and hood edge all are chromed. The tailpipe tips got a little touch of black. When I can figure out a way to improve the tail light assemblies I'll improve on those too. There's always more to do! The assemblies should have more chrome around the edges. Adding chrome is easy, but the problem is the chrome foil I use does not stick well to the red plastic for some reason and paint never looks as good as paint.

I didn't do any chassis detailing nor any engine detailing, but the engine looks nice so I included it in the pictures. I did paint the master cylinder but the rest of the detail you see is all Ertl. I believe there should be more flat black in the engine compartment but I'm not sure what should be black and what should be left as is. Until I can be sure I'll leave it as it appears.

If Ertl missed any one thing on this car it was the proper detailing on the wheels. Don't get me wrong, the wheels look nice as they come, they are just, well, wrong. I've corrected that and also added a little black to the fender extractor vents. And if you were wondering, Pontiac used lug nuts that matched the wheel color so they do not stand out like the chrome nuts used on most muscle car wheels.
