1970 Chevelle SS454, Light Blue (Ertl)

This is one of the first four cars in my collection. I kind of seems like an old friend. I can't believe it took me this long to give it the full treatment. The grill got the required body color additions, the wheels got details and of course it's been chromed.

The square exhaust tips just really set these models off. Why did Ertl ever make them round? I really need to find a way to complete the detailing on the bumper pad to add the thin white line it should have.

Lots of little things add up. Details were added to the master cylinder, exhaust, alternator, battery and washer bottle.

One of my favorite details that seem to add so much is the white stripes and lettering added to the 70 Chevelle steering wheel. It only takes a minute or so to do and usually turns out just great. Another fine example! The shifter and door panels got some touches of color as well.

Touches of color everywhere appropriate. It looks about 110% better than how it came out of the box but Ertl sure has gotten better at undercarriage details.
