This started out as a spare car I had lying around. I wanted to add side pipes to another car so I gave this car the standard exhaust and rocker moldings. I think it adds a nice change to this white car. I thought about removing the stripes for an additional change in the look, but since I didn't plan to keep the car I decided to leave them on for now and remove them later if desired. Of course the most striking change is the upgrade to Torq Thrust wheels and wider tires. Some cars were just MADE for certain wheel styles!

For some reason it was a big thing to paint the axle hubs red when the mag wheels didn't have a cap. I've duplicated this hot rodding trend on this car. I also black washed the rocker moldings to give them the proper appearance.

Ertl really made a nicely detailed engine on this car, but the lack of real looking chrome on the air cleaner lid and the valve covers makes it kind of dull. I of course addressed that problem and added a set of plug wires and some painted details to help the engine come to life. I also painted the grill surround to eliminate the excess chrome in that area.

The interiors are very well done but I added a few things. The most obvious are the chrome seat mechanisms. Much better.

I detailed the suspension and drive train fairly extensively which really helps these parts stand out.

Just a parting shot. Looks great with those wheels, doesn't it? If you really like it a lot, it can be yours!
