I
would suggest not standing there for long! You are looking down
the barrel of a ZL1 Camaro! This guy got the full detailing treatment.
The first step was to detail the chrome grill so it appears flat
silver with a black back ground and after all this I had to repaint
the bowtie with a little blue. It looks much better now. The yellow
paint is very smooth and shiny. Why can't Ertl do it this well
on all their models? The front air dam would look better if it
was a separate piece. At least they painted it so it stands out
as a different piece.
The
chrome was limited to windshield and rear window trim, side marker
lights and lock bezels. In staying with the COPO look we chose
not to chrome the roof rail trim nor the wheel openings. Those
plain wheels and hubcaps sure give it a boy-racer look.
You
can see the detailing on the side marker lights and the painted
tail pipes peeking out. You can also see how great the paint looks.
If this thing was any more yellow it would catch fire and burn
your eyes!
This
limited edition came detailed with black paint on the under side
of the hood. I have added details to the battery caps and terminals,
alternator, master cylinder, hose clamps, water neck, washer bottle
and exhaust manifolds. You can also see some of the detailing
on the grill. This mold is over done but many of the models are
quite nice. This is one of the nicer versions.
The
under side really takes to the detailing. The gas tank, exhaust,
rear springs, drive shaft, starter, oil filter and shocks. All
of these items when done to the proper colors sure add some nice
contrast to the black under carriage.
Enjoy Randy!
